The Atrium

The Atrium

The Atrium was designed by the renowned architects, Don Donnithorne, and opened its doors in 1994. Built with a hint of the Scandinavian style that Donnithorne chose for his own private residence, it also features Art Deco inspired detailing including a striking Atrium.

The building, which replaced an old pavilion, had to be aesthetically pleasing and appropriate for a park setting.

Funds for the building were contributed by the magnificent efforts of the women of the then ‘Canterbury Netball Union’.
